Our candles are made with 100% organic soy wax, non-toxic scents, and a cotton or wood wick. We have chosen to use soy wax for our candles because it is more natural than paraffin wax, which is made up of artificial materials such as a petroleum byproduct.
Soy wax also has a lower melting point than traditionally made paraffin wax candles, so our candles will last longer and burn longer than most mass produced candles. We also make sure the wax is at the perfect temperature when we add the scent to the candle to ensure we get the perfect throw to make your homes warm and inviting.
Each candle is hand poured in our workshop after you place your order and are made to your specifications: the size, wick type, scent, and even the container; and while this may slow down our processing and shipping times, we believe in the old southern value that good things come to those who wait.
Safety Tips
We love our candles, but we love our customers more, that is why we feel like it is important to give you some tips on how to burn your candles safely.
Candle Safety Tips
- Trim the wick(s) of your candle using scissors or a wick trimmer to ¼ inch before burning your candle.
- Burn your candle in a well-ventilated room, but avoid drafts, vents, and other types of air currents. This helps prevent uneven burning or sooting.
- Place your candles on an even surface away from flammable objects such as paper, drapes, furniture, etc..
- Light your candles using a long match or a long lighter to avoid getting too close to the flame, making sure your hair and clothing are pulled back before lighting.
- Keep your lit candle in one place, never move your candle while it is lit. Do not burn your candle for more than four hours at a time.
- Keep your candle away from pets and children at all times, especially when burning. We recommend storing your candles up high and behind a closed door.
- Keep a close eye on your candle and never leave it unattended. Always make sure to extinguish your candle before leaving the house or going to bed.
- Do not extinguish candles using the lid. Use a candle snuffer instead.
- Make sure the candle is completely out before you leave it unattended.
